Change Order #2 for Oakleaf School (Revised)

Issue/Rationale

Change Orders are initiated by the Contractor, Architect/Engineer or Owner, and may increase or decrease the scope of the project as defined by the plans and specifications.  Once a Change Order is initiated, review/evaluation is undertaken to determine the merit and/or requirement of the Change Order.  Change Orders are reviewed by the Architect/Engineer and staff prior to submission to the School Board.

Change Orders affect the scope of the project and are required to be School Board approved by State Requirements for Educational Facilities and Florida Statutes. This Change Order adds 34 relocatable sites, additional bus parking, and connection of all systems to relocatable classrooms to be moved on-site and purchased by the District. The connection of relocatable classrooms is traditionally paid for outside the school construction contract. Due to the extremely short time-line on this project, connection of all systems is included in this Change Order.

 



Recommended Action
Approve the Change Order.

Financial Impact
If approved, this Change Order will increase the contract amount by $1,083,457.00.  The Substantial Completion date is July 5, 2005.  Architect fees will increase by $62,840.51 as a result of this Change Order.
